Henry was our first resident donkey to oversee the family vineyard. When Rob and Sandra sold the original vineyard, Henry was walked down the vines to take up residence in his new paddock on Ingoldby Road. He became quite a celebrity with the locals and was often visited with carrots and cuddles from all of his new friends. Sadly Henry turned up his hooves several years ago and there was an unexpected outpouring of grief from the community. Who would have thought that cantankerous old donkey could have been so loved!

So in the hoofsteps of Henry, Nora and her six week old foal, Gus made the trek from Dimboola and came to live at Walker’s Run. Little did we know Nora was already carrying another foal. Eleven months later, after a crash course in donkey midwifery, along came Sid and then there were three!

Nora, Sid and Gus spend their days grazing in the paddock and in the cooler months wandering through the vineyard. They love to entertain the locals and the visitors to our beautiful region and are always looking to give those special donkey cuddles.
